Chronic Illness and Disability Telehealth Therapy
Living with a chronic illness or disability can come with its own kind of grief, and often not the kind addressed in typical grief therapy. That, coupled with the ableism that is rampant in not only the healthcare field but society at large can make something that was already exhausting even more so.
As a disabled counselor, I want to work with you to help you figure out the kind of life that would be accessible, accommodating, and affirming. I want you to feel confident advocating for yourself when you need to, and to feel completely free of the shame and internalized oppression that often comes towards those living with disabilities.
I offer a humanistic perspective, avoiding the blame or shame that can often come from strict CBT practices. I want to act as a teammate, someone who is here to help you figure out what you want for yourself, and importantly, how to get it.
When youβre ready to take the first step in healing, reach out to me. I am looking forward to connecting with you.
